TANZANIA FISHERIES CORPORATION (TAFICO)
Tanzania Fisheries Corporation (TAFICO) is a Government entity under The Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries stablished under the President Establishment Order of 2019 following the Government decision to revoke the Tanzania Fisheries Corporation which
has been in operation for the past 23 years.
Initially, TAFICO was established through Public Corporation Act No. 17 of 1969 that was published in the Government Gazette Notice No. 58 of 1st March 1974 under Government Order No. 11 of 14th February 1974.
The objective of re establishing TAFICO is to develop the fishing industry in the country.

Duties and Responsibilities
i. To promote the development of the fishing industry;
ii. To encourage the establishment of National and International ventures with the objective of improving the fish industry;
iii. To ensure that TAFICO secure resources and relevant permits for smooth operation of the Corporation;
iv. To encourage research in fisheries and related industries;
v. To ensure that TAFICO collaborate with relevant institutions as provided in the government Acts and regulations for efficient and effective operational of the corporation;
vi. To ensure that TAFICO is performing according to established Acts, objectives and remain creditable Corporation;
vii. To ensure that TAFICO fishing operations extend to Tanzanian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and beyond;
viii.To ensure that TAFICO operations comply with National and International guidelines and standards for business and environment management;
ix. To oversee all fish processing, quality assuarance, marketing and sale of fish and other fishery products;

x. To oversee all commercial aquaculture development;
xi. To ensure that Public Private Partinership (PPP) arrangement are implemented according to corporate Policy;
xii. To controll all Human Resource Management and Administrative issues of corporations;
xiii.To ensure corporation is adhere and collaborate with Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) according to e-Government Policy to increase efficiency;
xiv. To control and oversee all Financial matters according to Public Finance Act, Public Procurement Act, Local Government Finance Act and Regulations;
xv. To ensure that Procurement of goods and services adhere to Public Procurement Act;
xvi. To ensure that TAFICO has proper financial control according to professional practice of the Internal Auditing and internal audit code ethics and adhere to auditing report and recommendation to ensure proper utilization of resources;
xvii. To ensure Public Relation and Communication are effectively utilized for proper

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Masters Degree in one of the following deciplines:-Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Banking, Human Resources Management, Fisheries Science and Aquaculture, Fisheries Economics, Aquatic Sciences, Aquatic Environmental
Science, Marine Engineering, Fish Processing and Marketing, Master- fisherman, Nautical Science, Marine Science with working experience of at least twelve (12) years, three (3) of which must be at managerial level in reputable organization.
Must be
registered with relevant Profession Board where applicable.
Salary Scale: PGSS 14
